A Year in the Life

(0) comments

No excuses here.  I've had "blogging" on my to-do list for months now.  Months have a tendency to add-up after a while.  Here we are, a year later.  Oh, the difference a year makes.  I'd upload images, but there's something funky going on w/ my system today.  Gallery to come...

Since the final post last year, I:

...Took 3rd Overall at the Tri Ridgefield Race.  My friend Morgan kicked my a big way.  2nd place beat ...

A Win, A Sufferfest and A Disaster.

Ok, how did that happen?  Have I really not blogged since March?  Wow, that's embarrassing.

Here's the quick download:

After my last post, I took another 2nd.  Then I won.  I finally won.  Yes.  It was another windy Bethel day and Joanne and Siri were looking strong.  The field refused to snap, even with a number of attacks and 7 sprint primes.  The final lap came and I was on the the wind.  Not exactly where I ...

Always the Bridesmaid....

(0) comments

So the phrase goes: "Always the bridesmaid; never the bride"

It's feeling a bit true following up last week's 2nd place with another 2nd place by about an inch.

No complaints here, just a desire to finally go that extra inch and WIN!

Bethel was, well, Bethel as usual.  Windy and cold, but sunny for a change.  Girls came out from all over - plenty from NYC and many new faces, plus the local crew of Bethel, Stage-1, Audi and ...

March Madness

(0) comments

Yea, so remember how I said I'd blog more often?  Apparently I let it get away from me again... Can I blame it on the Ides of March?

So, here's the deal:  Work is great.  Training is great.  Racing is great.

Not enough for ya?  Yea, me neither.

Let's talk about the last two weeks.  I'm finally racing.  My bike that is.  Yea, KP, I know - "what about triathlons, Mandy?"  What about 'em?  Oh, yea, ...

Call me in the Morning

(0) comments

Well, a lot happened between January 14th and now...  Just about a month without blogging and here I land!

The big news is that I'm now the Global Marketing Manager for Cannondale Bicycles.  My relationship with Cannondale goes back 7+ years and when the position offer came up, it was something I could not refuse.  There are so many exciting things happening with the brand this year and I'm beyond excited to make my mark!

Three weeks in and I'm busy, ...

"No, this is how it works:
You peer inside yourself,
You take the things you like,
And try to love the things you took.
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some,
Someone else's heart,
Pumping someone else's blood.
And walking arm in arm,
You hope you don't get harmed.
But even if you do,
You'll just do it all again." Regina Spektor

This New Year has been pretty epic ...

Cleansing My Mind and Body

(0) comments

Day 3 of the Cleanse.  So far, so good.

This year appears easier than years past.  I'm happy to be doing this and honestly, I'm not craving wine, juice or sugars.  Eating more regularly is my real problem, but with this Cleanse and my gluten-free diet, that is changing!

You see, I have this bad habit...well, a few of them.

1. I like to eat a big breakfast and a big dinner.  No lunch.  In my family we joke that eating lunch is ...

New Year, New Resolutions

(1) comment

It's 2011 and like everyone, I'm making resolutions.  I considered committing to a 365 project, but would like something more original...well, or maybe just more, "Me".

2010 was a good year, but I already feel a lightness related to 2011.  An excitement and happiness I haven't felt for a sustained period.  Sam is a big part of that, as is my decision to take a break from Ironman for the duration of 2011.

I'm excited about ...

Off Season and the Cozumel Recap Part 1

(0) comments

For the last 2 weeks I have done nothing relating to Ironman, triathlon or fitness.  For two weeks, I allowed myself to be a sedentary sugar addict.  Exercise consised of walking the dog, leisurely, for maybe 10 minutes at a time.  Yea, heavy exercise load!

I slept 10+ hours a night and napped if I felt like it.  I caught up on a lot of work.  Interviewed for some new work opportunities and shopped.  Then I shopped some more.

Now that I ...
